description:

Examples of student designs realized while working as the teaching assistant for the furniture design class from fall 2005 through spring 2008. I have worked with Prof. Jon Haas to build over 100 student designed furniture pieces. The semester long class begins with individual meetings with students to discuss design sketches, materials, cost, and fabrication methods for their projects. The latter half of the semester is devoted to fabrication of a full scale prototype of each student’s design. The semester concludes with a presentation of the completed prototypes before a jury of professors, former students, and local furniture builders.
